If I had a wish it would be for MS to create the label with single spacing the same way they show in the "address block" and when I pushed a center button that it would place all the textīoth vertical and horizontal on the label. Sometimes I have to change the font onĬertain labels as the corporate name is too large to fit properly. So I then use the cell margins to adjust the spacing until I am satisfied.

When I then select align from the ribbon it only sifts the text a very small amount.ie not enough to produce a professional looking result. This closes the wide top to bottom spacing on the label text (so it fits the space on the label).but I think this might still leave behind the field or space upon which the text used to sit prior to my adjustments. What seems to happen is than when I first view a label on the sheet I find the text spacing to be so bad that I have to fix it I agree align center should adjust the left margin of the label so the address text is centered on each label left to right. I think the result of completing the merge steps in the wizard should be that I have createdĪ label table which I can save as a doc/ and format.or print and leave. Thank you for your help but I think this area of the program needs some attention so that I do not have to do a "work around" ie leave the wizard mid stream.

It is useful to while formatting to be able to view all the cells as sometimes certain corporation names are longer and barely fit into the cell boundries and they must be individuallyĮdited. I have to fiddle with the cell margins in order to produce a nice mailing label. Formatting the label once the merge is complete should take only a few clicks with the mouse as the program knows all the label specs, text size etc. The wizard in mid step and then complete the merge.and thus create the doc which I can save. Thank you for pointing out that I have to leave So after saving the label table doc I then can work on the formatting. Labels.that I am asked to save or print(but it would not really be usable.since default format is marginal).

Once the merge is complete I logically should at that point have a doc with 4 pages of unformatted That I should tell the program to put the spreadsheet information into the rest of the labels, and then go to the next step and so on.all this is pretty quick. I finish step 4 with placing the address block on the label.I guess I could leave the wizard at that point and format the first cell. I am using the mail merge wizard.ie step by step to make the label doc. I am hoping there is a much more simple path than the above and would appreciate any input. This works but I would like to be able to save the address table as a new 4 page document for future reference. It to print all 4 pages is to ask it to print label 1 to 115. This works but is it correct? I can do the same thing with left to right spacing on the label.Īfter all this is done and I have clicked complete the merge and try to print the label table it only prints one page if I tell it to print "all"? I have tried to save as a document and "print preview" and it only shows one page.

I can leave the wizard and fix this via changing the vertical spacing.returning to wizard-going back a step-click on update labels and formatting is copied The labels they are all spaced vertically so they will not actually fit or fit poorly in the labels. I am using avery 5260 labels.30 to a sheet, and have 115 names in the database. I am not certain but I do not think the program is working properly. I am making address labels from excel data sheet using the mail merge, mail wizard.
